The U13s got the week off to a winning start beating Southgate Adelaide comprehensively with star performances with the bat from Aidan Corin with 33 and Jacob Gershie with 27 and with the ball from Kiran Haffner and Isaac Jacobs with two wickets each. Southgate Adelaide falling 24 runs short of our 106-9.

Over at Southgate, the U15s restricted the oppo to 114-6 and looked well placed to score the required runs but fell agonisingly (4 runs) short.

The real drama, however, was reserved for Sunday's game against CricX1 where LMV batted first and scored 176-8 off their allotted 40 overs thanks in particular to 65 not out from Jonny Lubin. In reply CrickX1 were coasting to victory but the game turned on great fielding from LMVCC with Jacob Cowan's direct hit from the boundary a highlight and despite Cric X1 needing only 5 from the last over, Vale held their nerve to win by 1 run with the oppo 175 all out! Credit due to Yishai Epstein-Lightman with 2-29 and Jonny Lubin 2-17. Even better to report that only two of the team playing were over 21...

A reminder please to all Junior parents to fill out availability for Club Day via the poll on the LMV Junior Whasapp group and to senior players that nets are now switching to Wednesday evenings at 6.30 at Rowley Lane from this week.

Finally, a special mention this week to Russ "the mensch" Corin. Aside from populating each of our U11, U13 and U15 teams with one son each (thanks also to Helen Corin of course), Russ pulled out all the stops this week organising our friendly matches (there were actually two, but one team cancelled at the last minute). Not only that, but he always puts up his hand to do whatever might be needed to help the club. We're very lucky to have him....
