Sunday saw team Vale play our last outdoor match of the season vs Crouch End.
Captain John Feigenbaum decided to bat first and things were looking somewhat dicey at 106-6. However, the fall of the sixth wicket brought LMV's Leeds boys to the crease in messrs Rafi Saville and Michael Hurwitz and they both batted brilliantly to take Vale to 205-6 off their allotted 35 overs, Saville finishing on 74* and Hurwitz 38*.
In reply, Crouch End were blown away by Vale's youthful attack with Yoni Laitner, Elliot Kennedy and Daniel Baker all picking up wickets. But the undoubted star of the show was Rafi Zackheim, who bamboozled the Crouch End batters taking a brilliant 5-13 off of 5 overs to bowl them out for a paltry 89.
It's been a memorable season for many reasons and we will reflect formally on our achievements at the AGM (date to follow), but for now a massive thanks to all those on the Committee who made it happen and to all of you, the club's members/supporters/schleppers who have helped us along the way.
Reminder that junior training starts NEXT MONDAY at London Academy (6.30-7.30 U11, 7.30-8.30 U13 and U15s). Looking forward to seeing you there.
